Annual Meeting
We begin the meeting on Thursday, May 3rd, with Emery Ellinger and his presentation, “Transition- A Win-Win”. Emery, with his formal education in economics, has been able to develop a marketing company from zero revenue to more than $7 million, including employee growth from two to 200. His career has included the corporate banking world as well as time spent with Merrill Lynch. Emery currently serves as the CEO of Aberdeen Advisors handling transactions of more than a million dollars in the manufacturing, construction, distribution and healthcare industries. In 2008 Emery was the #1 Top Dollar Producer in the Southeast for the Business Brokers Network. Emery’s presentation regarding practice transitions will be very practical using real dental practice transition examples in today’s market. He will provide an update on the current market conditions as it relates to bank financing, valuations, numbers of transactions and general thoughts about today’s environment. He will address issues on how you can make your business more valuable, how buyers value a business and what are your options in selling your business (100% outright sale; private equity buyers). All dental attendees will find Emery’s presentation extremely relevant and insightful as they approach this major life event called the dental practice transition. Dr. Beirl will provide us with amazing presentations on Friday and Saturday, May 4th and 5th, entitled “The E’s of Dentistry”. Brian has been in private practice in Seminole, Fl. since 1980. Brian was a visiting faculty for the Pankey Institute for 22 years, the inaugural President of Pankey Scholars, and a Fellow of AGD. Brian has an active dental consulting business, and is the author of the dental business fable, the bookbinder, and the sequel; the bookbinder, Janis Story. Brian has written articles for Dental Economics and other publications. He has presented in Canada, Mexico and the US. Brian’s two day program will Encourage you to Evaluate your practice as these areas are covered: Enthusiasm, Energy, Efficiency, Effectiveness, Employees, Education, Ethics, Extraordinary service, the Evolution of your practice, Evaluation, and creating an Exit strategy. Knowing Brian, he will probably Ease in a few unexpected E’s. - Drs. Larry Cook & Steve Krist
